Graduate Research Assistantships in Climate Change Research

We invite highly motivated Ph.D. and Ph.D.-aspiring M.S. students to apply for two graduate assistantships under the auspices of the Stable Isotope Geosciences Facility at Texas A&M University. Both assistantships involve development and application of trace element and stable isotope proxies to study climate change and paleoceanography.

The first, in the Department of Geography (Roark), pursues biogeochemical proxy development in deep-sea corals. The second, in the Department of Geology & Geophysics through the Halbouty Chair in Geology (Grossman), applies geochemical proxies to macrofossils to understand Caribbean extinction or Paleozoic paleoclimate.

Funding is available for at least three years with additional funding available through TAs. Preference will be given to students with experience and interest in mass spectrometry.
